Haunted House Owner Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Teen

The owner of a haunted house in Texas has been accused of sexual assault by a girl that volunteered at the attraction in 2017 when she was 14 years old.

According to reports, the 51-year-old owner and creator of the Scream Hollow Wicked Halloween Park near Austin, Texas, employs underage volunteers for some of the jobs at the site.

On July 30, the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office received notification from a woman who reported that she worked as a volunteer at the theme park in 2017 when she was a teenager. She added that she also spent time with the owner outside of working hours on occasion. The girl said that the man gave her alcoholic beverages regularly, even though she was only 14 years old.

The girl spoke to a detective at the beginning of August. She said that one of the times in October or November when the owner allegedly gave her alcohol,  she reportedly got sick from drinking too much. She said it caused her to throw up on her clothing.

The woman, who is now 19 years old, reported that the park owner offered her the use of his shower since she was a mess. She said that she accepted, and when she finished cleaning up, the man allegedly told her to get into his bed.

The girl said that when she was lying down the man started to touch her body. She said she did not give him her consent and reported that he continued touching her until he sexually assaulted her.

On September 14, the suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the Bastrop County Jail for the allegations. He was incarcerated overnight before posting a $100,000 bond.
