A Florida man was arrested on hundreds of charges for allegedly sexually assaulting children and possessing pornographic materials depicting both children and animals.
In the middle of May last year, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was conducting an online undercover operation to try to flush out adults sexually preying on children.
A detective pretending to be underage was chatting with someone who said they were 19 years old, and they allegedly asked the person they believed was a child to send naked photos.
According to the police, they identified the suspect as a 28-year-old man from Brandon.
On May 19, the man was placed under arrest on suspicion of using computer services/devices to solicit certain illegal acts while misrepresenting age, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Upon his detention, the police confiscated his cell phone. They spent several months investigating the man, and they allegedly discovered over 100 videos and images of youngsters and animals being sexually abused.
The suspect was placed under arrest for 100 counts of out-of-state transmission of child pornography by an electronic device, 100 counts of possession of child pornography with 10 or more images and content of images, four counts of possession of child pornography with realistic computer-generated videos of child pornography, and two counts of filming, distributing, or possessing image or video of sexual activity with an animal.
The authorities continued their investigation, and after allegedly finding additional evidence in the man’s residence, the police asserted that the man had sexual contact with more than one child.
Additional charges were added, including possession of child pornography, promotion of a sexual performance by a child, traveling to meet a minor after using computer services to solicit illegal acts, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, unlawful sexual activity with a minor, transmission of harmful material to a minor, and use of computer services to solicit illegal acts.
Currently, he is being held in lieu of $3,080,500.
