On Sunday afternoon a man entered a Planet Fitness gym and allegedly took his clothes off before working out, and he is now facing charges for the incident.
In the early afternoon on July 22, 34-year-old Eric Stagno from Massachusetts reportedly visited a Planet Fitness in Plaistow, New Hampshire, for a workout.
After entering the gym Stagno allegedly shed all of his clothing and began performing yoga in full view of the other members who were present. People reportedly started to feel uncomfortable and had concerns about the possible health risks and the authorities were called to the location.
When the police walked into the gym they reported seeing Stagno in the middle of a yoga pose while fully naked. When they approached him in order to gain control of the situation Stagno allegedly didn’t understand what the problem was and pointed out that Planet Fitness uses the catchphrase “judgment-free zone” in their advertisements.
Stagno was placed under arrest and the police reported that he was compliant during the procedure. He has been charged with indecent exposure, lewdness, and disorderly conduct, and he was released on a personal recognizance bail of $1000. He is scheduled for an arraignment at the Plaistow Circuit Court on September 21.
Police Captain Brett Morgan said that he was unsure what part of the gym Stagno was in when he was allegedly working out sans clothes, but that he knew it was not in view of the front window of the establishment and that no one outside of the gym was able to see the nudity.
