Ring Cam Recorded Sitter Abusing 2-Year-Old

The longtime family friend and nanny of a toddler in New York was reportedly caught abusing the boy when his mother remotely saw the real-time video from her Ring camera.

A mother of 2 from Newburgh went to work on March 12 and left her 2-year-old in the care of a friend she had known for 15 years.

There is a Ring camera inside the home, and while the woman was at her place of employment, she looked at the app and reportedly saw her friend abusing her child. She said she saw the woman throw her son on his back and slap him several times. The woman was allegedly screaming at the youngster and telling him to go to sleep. The boy was reportedly sobbing during the encounter. The sitter also allegedly put her foot on the child’s head while lying on the sofa.

It was reported that the mother had recently spoken to the sitter, who told her that her son had woken up from a nap and was watching television.

The concerned mom immediately went home to her child and notified the authorities.

The police saw the video and noted that the sitter put a blanket over the child while she reportedly struck him over and over. A portion of the footage was released online, but the rest was deemed too graphic to be shared.

The woman was placed under arrest and booked into the Orange County Jail. It is expected that she will be charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child. She was released from custody the following day.

According to reports, the youngster was taken to the hospital to make sure he did not need medical treatment, and he is doing well.
