Two Kids Found Living in Filthy Home with 34 Dogs

The authorities reported that the mother of two youngsters allowed her children to live in a highly unsanitary environment with 34 dogs and an immense amount of garbage.

29-year-old Lindsay Arnold and her partner, 46-year-old Christina Garcia, live in Lemmon Valley, Nevada. Arnold’s 7 and 9-year-old children also live with the pair.

Around 7:00 am on January 31, deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office stopped by Arnold’s address to perform a requested welfare check.

A press release issued by the sheriff’s office stated that the deputies saw that the children were living in one of the two bedrooms that their mother rents in a basement sublet. Arnold and Garcia share the second room. The residence was additionally filled with dogs.

When the deputies viewed the inside of the space, they noted that there was a total of 34 canines, and 18 of them reportedly lived in the bedroom with the youngsters. It was reportedly unkempt, with clothes and piles of trash and dung covering many spots on the floor.

It was reported that the kids’ room contained an air mattress that did not have any air, and it was allegedly soiled with dog excrement. The children allegedly had marks on their bodies, and the authorities asserted that they were the result of being bitten by the dogs in the residence.

15 of the dogs reportedly lived in the second bedroom with Arnold and Garcia, and the other one belonged to a renter who has no relation to the family.

Arnold and Garcia were both placed under arrest.

Arnold is facing two felony counts of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment.

Garcia is expected to face charges of two gross misdemeanor counts of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment.

According to reports, the children were placed in the care of relatives.
