Around 11:30 PM on July 24, a teenage girl and her 23-year-old cousin were hanging out together at Sonny’s Place in Somers. The family entertainment center and amusement park offers miniature golf, zip lining, laser tag, and several other attractions.
While the teenager and her cousin were standing together, a man reportedly approached the young woman and grabbed her by the buttocks.
The Connecticut State Police were notified about the alleged inappropriate touching, and officers went to Sonny’s to investigate the claim.
When they arrived, the suspect was identified as 49-year-old Daniel Perreault from Springfield.
The police spoke with the alleged victim and her cousin. She gave them a report detailing her account of the event, and her cousin said that she had witnessed the alleged act as it took place.
Perreault talked to a trooper about the allegations. The man, who was assessed to be intoxicated, reportedly said that he had no recollection of anything happening between himself and the teenage girl.
Perreault was placed under arrest for the accusations. He was processed, and he was issued a cash/surety bond of $20,000.
He is facing charges for suspicion of risk of injury to a minor via illicit sexual contact with a victim under the age of 16, fourth-degree sexual assault of a minor, and second-degree breach of peace.
Perreault was released from custody, and he is scheduled at the Rockville Superior Court on August 25.
If he is found guilty as charged, Perreault could spend up to 25 years plus an additional 6 months in prison.
