Florida Man Battered Wife With Raw Chicken

A man was accused of domestic violence after he allegedly used raw chicken and laundry as weapons during a fight with his spouse.

34-year-old Thomas Reece and his wife of the same age live together in St. Petersburg, Florida where the man is also reportedly employed at Lowe’s.

On May 15, the pair were home together in the evening when they allegedly became entangled in a spat regarding what the police noted as “a family issue.”

In the middle of the alleged beef between the two, Reece allegedly grabbed a piece of uncooked chicken and threw it in the direction of his wife. The raw fowl reportedly pelted the woman in the back of the head.

The alleged victim reported that she informed her husband that he would need to leave their home since the argument had escalated to a reportedly physical level, and she reportedly gathered some of Reece’s personal belongings in a basket.

The man allegedly did not take kindly to her request for his departure, and Reece reportedly picked up the basket and heaved it across the room. The basket reportedly hit his wife.

Around 8:30 pm the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office was alerted about the alleged assault, and they went to the residence to investigate the situation.

According to the arrest report, the police claimed that it appeared that Reece did hit his wife with the raw meat and the basket of belongings.

Reece was taken into custody and booked into the Pinellas County Jail for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.

After spending the night incarcerated, Reece was released on his own recognizance, but it was ordered that he have no contact with the alleged victim.
