Haley Pullos, star of the daytime soap opera “General Hospital,” was charged following a near-fatal car accident that she was accused of causing by driving under the influence.
Since 2009, Pullos has portrayed Molly Lansing-Davis on the CBS soap opera.
At approximately 1:30 AM on April 29, Pullos was driving on the 134 Freeway in Pasadena. She was reportedly going around 60 MPH, and she allegedly began driving against the flow of traffic. Her vehicle collided head-on with another car.
The other driver was severely injured, and Pullos was trapped in her vehicle. The Pasadena Fire Department had to remove her from the car using the jaws of life.
The authorities reported that Pullos showed several signs of being intoxicated, and when they searched her car, they allegedly found miniature bottles of tequila and marijuana edibles.
Both drivers needed to be transported to the hospital for their injuries.
Upon further investigation, the authorities learned that there was a hit-and-run nearby, and they believed Pullos was the cause of that wreck as well.
It was reported that on May 17, Pullos checked into the Malibu Detox and Residential Treatment Center.
The Los Angeles District Attorney has decided to pursue charges against Pullos for one felony count of DUI causing injury, one felony count of driving with a .08 BAC causing injury, and one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run resulting in property damage.
Pullos has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and she has a court appearance on the calendar at the end of July.
The victim of the car crash, who was in critical condition, said they intend to sue Pullos for damages.
Pullos’ part in General Hospital has been recast while the actress recovers. She reported that she intends to return as soon as she is able.
