Man Caught with Stash of Meth in M&M Container

A Florida man was taken into custody after an interaction with a police officer revealed he was reportedly carrying a plastic mini M&M container allegedly being used to store methamphetamine.

Early in the morning on April 25, a man driving a green Ford Ranger who was accompanied by one passenger parked the vehicle in the lot of a Winn Dixie grocery store in Pensacola.

The truck was parked near a large dumpster, and the driver and passenger stayed in the vehicle.

A deputy with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office was in the area, and they noticed the Ford parked by the trash receptacle. Upon closer inspection, they saw two people sitting inside the truck.

According to reports, the deputy thought the situation seemed suspicious. They approached the truck and began to talk to the driver.

The deputy asked the driver what he and the passenger were doing, and the man reportedly said they were on their way home, but they decided to relax and eat their sandwiches beforehand.

When his driver’s license number was checked, the deputy learned that the man had an active arrest warrant.

The man informed the deputy that he had something in his sock, and it was reportedly identified as meth. When the vehicle was inspected, more substances were reportedly located, including a plastic M&M container holding meth.

The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the Escambia County Jail. He is currently expected to face charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to appear. He is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 19.

There was no word on what became of the passenger or the sandwiches.
