Man Facing Felonies for Attacking Girlfriend Over Xbox

A Missouri man was arrested on two felony charges after allegedly attacking his girlfriend, in addition to throwing her child onto a bed, presumably because she sold his Xbox gaming console.

According to reports, just before midnight on September 7 at a residence in Arnold, a 22-year-old man and his girlfriend engaged in an argument that turned violent. The incident reportedly started when the woman, who believed he was being unfaithful, sold his Xbox console without his knowledge or permission. When he found out, he allegedly became angry and confronted her about it. The fight escalated, and the man allegedly shoved his girlfriend, causing her to fall onto her bed. Her child, who was under the age of 17, was also in the home, and when they entered the room, the man reportedly pushed them onto the bed as well. It was reported that afterwards, things further intensified, and the man allegedly put his hand around his girlfriend’s throat and slammed her head into a wall several times.

When the authorities learned about the alleged domestic unrest, officers from the Arnold Police Department went to the residence to investigate. They reported that when they interacted with the alleged victim, she had visible marks on her neck.

The man was taken into custody and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of first-degree domestic assault, a class B felony, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, a class D felony. According to records, he was released after posting a $15,000 bond. If he were convicted of both charges, he could be sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.

It was reported that the child was unharmed during the incident, and the woman did not need medical intervention.
