Man Punched Car Window and Injured Officer

A Massachusetts man is facing charges after he allegedly struck the window of a man’s vehicle, in addition to hitting and injuring a police officer.

On the evening of April 26, a man without permanent housing was in Ludlow when he and a stranger in a vehicle got into a verbal altercation.

The situation escalated to the point where the man outside the car struck the driver’s side window.

The driver of the vehicle placed a call to the Ludlow Police Department to report what had happened, and the location of the incident.

Officers set out to find the suspect, and they believed it was someone that had been at the police station several times in the past.

The police spotted the man they believed they were searching for while he was standing in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant, and they parked their vehicles so they could talk to him about the report that was called in.

When the officers got out of their cars, they started to walk toward the man. He allegedly clenched his fists and became immediately aggressive with them.

According to reports, the police ordered the man to stop, but he did not listen. He allegedly continued to resist the officers until they felt it was necessary to deploy a stun gun so they could detain him.

The man was taken into custody on suspicion of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer resulting in serious bodily injury.

It was reported that he is scheduled for a dangerousness hearing, and until that time, he is being held without bond.

One of the officers was injured during the incident, and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
