Roommate Stabbed During Dispute About Bed Sheets

A suspect in Florida is facing serious charges after allegedly showing displeasure over the blankets and sheets her roommate put on her bed by violently attacking and stabbing the woman.

Early in the evening on July 27, a woman who shares her home with a 26-year-old put sheets and blankets on her roommate’s bed. The housemate was reportedly upset by the woman’s choice of linens, and they began to argue. Things quickly escalated, and the roommate allegedly started physically attacking the woman. She reportedly broke a glass bottle of olive oil on her head, yanked out some of her braided hair, kicked her, and bit her before the woman was able to get away. According to reports, as the alleged victim called the authorities, her roommate stabbed her in the back with a kitchen knife. Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the address to intervene.

The deputies reported that the suspect was found in a bathroom in the home with a knife. They spoke to the alleged victim and noted that she had a wound on the side of her back that looked like it was caused by the blade. She informed them that during the alleged attack, she had to bite her roommate to get away so she could call for help. The deputies also reported that a surveillance camera was present in the residence, which recorded the incident. When the suspect discussed the matter with them, she allegedly admitted to the attack.

The woman was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center, where she was booked into the county jail. She is facing preliminary charges of one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of domestic violence-related aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She is currently being held without bond.
