Woman Arrested After Stabbing Teen in Michigan Mall

After someone reportedly mocked a woman whose card was declined while checking out at a store in a Michigan mall, she became angry and allegedly stabbed a teenager who she believed made the comment.

On November 5, an incident occurred at the Kids Foot Locker Southland Center that resulted in one woman’s arrest and a teenager being taken to the hospital. According to reports, a 44-year-old who had been shopping at the shoe store with her children was at the register trying to check out. She attempted to pay using a credit card, but the cashier said it had been declined. One of the many people waiting in line reportedly said, “broke b****!” and the woman believed the comment was intended for her. When she looked around to see who said it, she reportedly set her sights on a 19-year-old girl who was standing nearby.

Things intensified when the woman confronted the teen, who said she did not say anything and was only there because she wanted to see what was happening. The suspect allegedly took a knife out of her purse and stabbed the young woman four times before leaving the store.

The police were notified, and they saw the suspect as she was making her way to the parking lot. They took her into custody on suspicion of assault with intent to murder, felonious assault, and assault with intent to do great bodily harm. At the time this was written, reports indicated that she was being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.

The alleged victim, who was diagnosed with a collapsed lung and injuries to her neck, stomach, and one of her legs, reported that she plans to press charges but feels bad about it because she does not want to see the woman lose her children if it comes to that.
