According to reports, at approximately 10:30 PM on November 14, on-duty officers from the West Monroe Police saw a vehicle stopped at a stop sign.
The officers performed a traffic stop, but nothing has been released about why they felt they should do so.
When the police walked up to the vehicle, they saw the driver and a female passenger inside. They reported that they could smell marijuana inside the car.
The officers inspected the interior, and they reportedly located crack cocaine, marijuana, an Alprazolam pill, and paraphernalia.
Both the driver and passenger were arrested and taken to the Ouachita Correctional center.
The passenger from the vehicle was reportedly found with meth inside a pack of cigarettes when she was searched at the facility.
It was reported that she shoved the meth into her mouth and tried to swallow it, but deputies stopped her before she was able. She allegedly struck them during the struggle.
The following day, a warrant for her arrest was signed.
The woman was outside when she spotted the police approaching, and she reportedly ran into her home and would not allow the officers in.
It was reported that the police eventually got her to open the door, and when they searched her home, they found marijuana and a meth pipe.
The 36-year-old woman was placed under arrest and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center. She is facing preliminary charges of six counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of battery of a correctional employee, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and resisting a law enforcement officer. She was held in lieu of a $17,750 bond.
