85 Pounds of Shrimp Swiped from Storage Facility

A man in the Florida Keys is facing several charges after allegedly breaking into a storage facility and stealing items, including 85 pounds of shrimp.

At approximately 10:00 am on November 13, the owner of a storage facility arrived at their business and found that one of the locks had been broken off a door. Several items were missing from the building, and the owner suspected he had been robbed.

The proprietor placed a call to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to report the purported burglary.

Deputies went to the site, and they began to investigate the fishy situation.

When they took an inventory of the items that were swiped, they learned that 85 pounds of shrimp were missing from the facility. It was also reported that a Garmin GPS unit, a trim tile unit for an outboard engine, and an air pump had been taken.

The authorities began working to identify the person who allegedly entered the building without permission after hours.

It was reported that they reviewed the video captured by the surveillance camera and saw the image of the alleged burglar.

The police believed that the suspect resembled a man they had run into many times. He is said to be from Stock Island, and he has had a long history of legal problems since at least 2003.

According to reports, it only took a short time for the authorities to locate the suspect after they went to look for him.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Monroe County Jail, and he was locked up in lieu of a $20,000 bond. He is facing preliminary charges for burglary, larceny, possession of burglary tools, and damage to property.
