Deadly Threat Sent With Facebook Friend Request

A man was arrested after allegedly sending a death threat accompanying a friend request on Facebook and then reportedly kicking his way through the door of the alleged victim’s home.

29-year-old Caleb Burczyk lives in Williston, North Dakota, and he has reportedly been struggling to obtain employment since he was laid off from his most recent job.

Burczyk was working for NexTier Wireline alongside Robert Allen Thomas and Thomas’s brother-in-law.

The Thomas’ also reside in Williston, and the pair reportedly chose to switch jobs and work for a different company.

After their departure, Burczyk was discharged from his job with NexTier.

Burczyk reportedly struggled when trying to obtain a new job. He purportedly held Thomas and his brother-in-law accountable for his employment troubles.

According to the affidavit, on December 24, Burczyk reportedly reached out to Thomas on social media by sending a friend request on Facebook.

After the initial contact, Burczyk allegedly sent messages saying that he would “come at” Thomas, in addition to reportedly threatening to “murder” the man if his request was not accepted.

When two days passed, and Thomas had not accepted the friend request, Burczyk allegedly sent a message saying that he would be forced to come to Thomas’s home if he continued to ignore him.

A while after the message was sent, Burczyk reportedly showed up at the Thomas residence and used his foot to break through the front door and enter.

A family member inside the house notified the authorities about a possible burglary in progress, and officers from the Williston Police Department were sent to the address.

The authorities collected statements from the family, and they were given footage of the incident that the home security camera reportedly captured.

When the police saw the suspect in the video, they asserted that Burczyk was the perpetrator.

Burczyk was taken into custody and booked into the county jail for suspicion of felony burglary and felony terrorizing.

He was released on a $50,000 bond, and he has pleaded not guilty to the allegations against him.
