Florida Man Poisoned Coworker’s Pepsi with Bleach

A Florida man who works as a janitor at a Dollar General store is facing charges after allegedly poisoning his coworker’s beverage.

On October 24, two workers who had reportedly recently gotten into an argument while working a shift together at the Dollar General store in DeLand, Florida, had their allegedly hostile connection come to a head.

The reportedly irritated party arrived at work, and he realized that the person he disliked was scheduled for a shift as well.

The allegedly irksome employee went on their lunch break, and they were drinking a can of Pepsi with their meal.

During his break, the worker left his Pepsi on the counter and went to the restroom.

It was reported that while his coworker was using the facilities, the 48-year-old janitor walked over to the beverage and poured bleach into the can.

When the person returned and took a sip, they believed the Pepsi tasted like bleach. They also reported that they could smell bleach when they sniffed the can.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office was notified about the situation.

Since the store has surveillance cameras, the authorities reviewed the footage and allegedly saw the janitor walk up to the coworker’s Pepsi. It reportedly appeared as if he dumped bleach into the drink and then wiped off the top of the can. It also looked like the man spit in the Pepsi.

The deputies asked questions about what they saw on the video, and the suspect reportedly said that he put bleach around the top of the drink because the alleged victim was hard to work with.

The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the Volusia County Jail. He is facing charges for suspicion of poisoning food or water and tampering with evidence.

He is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
