Jealous Woman Hit Ex-Husband’s New Girlfriend with Car

A Florida woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly attempting to strike her ex-husband’s new girlfriend with her car after she spotted them walking across a highway together.

On April 10, a man and his girlfriend were heading to a party in Auburndale on foot when they crossed the street and stopped by a Circle K to pick up some supplies. When they had what they needed and walked back across the highway, the couple saw a Volkswagen Jetta speeding toward them, and the woman began running away to try to avoid being struck. The driver continued to pursue her and eventually ran into her with the vehicle. Afterward, the driver sped away, leaving the badly injured woman on the ground.

The authorities were called to the location, and deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and rescue workers from the fire department went to the address where the incident occurred. When they arrived, the woman was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. During their initial investigation, the authorities determined that the man’s ex-wife was the driver of the offending vehicle. It was reported that they believed she tried to run over her ex’s new partner because she saw the couple crossing the street when she was driving by, and she became jealous.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Polk County jail. She is facing preliminary charges of one count of attempted murder in the first degree, one count of trespassing on property other than a structure or conveyance, and a charge for violating her probation on a case regarding theft over $750. According to facility records, she is currently housed in the Central County Jail without bond.

It was reported that the alleged victim was diagnosed with having two spinal fractures.
