A man in Colorado has been accused of violently attacking a woman in a hotel room, causing her to sustain serious injuries and fear for her life.
On June 20, a woman was in a hotel room with a 25-year-old man who was a guest at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in South Coral Springs.
It was reported that the couple started to argue, and the woman became concerned for her physical safety. She reportedly locked herself inside the bathroom, but the man was able to get in.
The fight reportedly continued, and her partner allegedly started to push her around. She tried to leave, but the man allegedly covered her mouth with his hand and made her stay in the room.
According to reports, others at the hotel could hear a male yelling angrily for a long time. They believed the sound was coming from the couple’s room and that the woman was being mistreated.
The authorities were notified, and officers from the Coral Springs Police Department went to the hotel to investigate.
The officers headed towards the room reported in the call, and as they got closer, they could hear a man yelling inside. They tried knocking, and it took a long time before the man opened the door.
When the police peered inside, they noticed the room was disheveled, and there were several bottles of alcohol laying around. They also reported that there was quite a bit of blood on the bed.
They noticed that the woman was bleeding from a cut on her nose, and it was asserted that the blood on the sheet came from her wound.
The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the County Main Jail. He is facing preliminary charges for false imprisonment, domestic battery by strangulation, and battery.
