Postal Worker Savagely Stabbed Boss with Screwdriver

A United States Postal Service employee reportedly used a screwdriver to stab her boss several times over a disagreement.

35-year-old Tamekia Lashea Scott works at a post office located in Hernando, Mississippi.

Around 9:00 am on July 13, Scott was at the branch while the postmaster was working her shift.

Scott allegedly produced a screwdriver and began to impale her boss with the tool. The alleged victim was stabbed an unknown amount of times, and at least one of the thrusts caused the screwdriver to penetrate her head.

After the alleged attack, Scott reportedly walked out of the post office and went to her vehicle.

When the woman tried to drive out of the parking lot, other postal employees that were purportedly aware of the situation obstructed Scott from taking off before the authorities arrived.

The postmaster was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, and the post office customers began to wonder what had transpired.

Officers with the Hernando Police Department arrived, and they believed the incident may have occurred over a work-related issue. Scott was believed to be upset over a time-off request.

Scott was taken into custody and booked into the Desoto County Jail. She is expected to face charges for suspicion of aggravated assault manifesting extreme indifference to life.

According to court records, Scott was released on a surety bond, and she is scheduled for court on August 18.

Since the USPS is a federal agency, the local authorities will not be prosecuting the case since it is a federal offense. The USPS intends to pursue charges against Scott for the allegations.

The alleged victim was released from the hospital later the same evening. She was reported to be recovering from her injuries.
