Riverside County Man Arrested for Weapon and Drugs

A Perris resident has been taken into custody for allegations that he was carrying an illegal gun, in addition to a large amount of drugs and paraphernalia.

42-year-old Jamall Walters lives in Perris, California; a city about 70-miles outside Los Angeles.

Just before 9:00 pm on September 12, a man later identified as Walters was reportedly parked in a vehicle behind a row of businesses, and the car caught the eye of a passing police car.

It was purported by the authorities that something about the nature of the situation appeared dubious, and they decided to approach the driver of the car.

When Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputies made contact with Walters, they reportedly searched the man and allegedly found that he was holding several illegal items on his person.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, Walters was found with nearly 20 grams of methamphetamine, several pieces of paraphernalia, a 9mm handgun, and ammunition.

Since Walters is a felon, he is disallowed from possessing guns, which caused the deputies to assert that it was not legal for him to carry the one they allegedly discovered.

Walters was placed under arrest for the allegations, and he was booked into the Cois Boyd Detention Center in Murietta.

He is facing charges for suspicion of illegal possession of methamphetamine, drug sales, felon in possession of a firearm, and it was reported that Walters is expected to face additional charges for suspected criminal activity.
