School Cafeteria Worker Sold THC Edibles to Students

A temp cafeteria worker at a Louisiana high school was arrested and charged after allegedly selling homemade marijuana edibles to some of the students.

Last week, a woman from Kentwood who was placed as a temporary worker by the ESS Staffing Agency in the cafeteria at Sumner High School in the Tangipahoa Parish School System reportedly brought home baked sweets to the campus.

It was reported that one of the students at the school bought a treat from the woman, and they believed the woman was selling handcrafted marijuana edibles.

The teen used an app called P3 that the students are provided with so that they can report any situations they believe the authorities should know about.

According to their website, the Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa P3 app “is an anonymous tip reporting system and is a vital tool in keeping schools and students safe. Students can report about a wide range of concerns, from mental health issues to threats of violence through the P3 app or through the Crime Stoppers website. Tips are delivered to multiple school administrators and law enforcement making sure nothing slips through the cracks.”

After the student used the app and reported their suspicions to the authorities, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office received notification about the report.

It was reported that they opened an investigation and began to look into the claim.

They reported that they identified the suspect as the 45-year-old temp worker.

The woman was taken into custody, and she is expected to face charges of possession and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug-free zone.

When the superintendent spoke about the situation, one of the things they included was to commend the student for employing “see something, say something.”
