A man suspected of stealing hundreds of dollars of sex toys was cited for the alleged theft and then taken into custody by the state police for outstanding warrants.
Late in the morning on March 26, Cirilla’s Adult Store in Elyria, Ohio, was reportedly visited by a man who stole several sex toys off the shelves.
According to a girl who was working at the time, the man had a large knife in his possession. Since she was unable to place a call, she pressed the hidden panic button that automatically notifies the authorities to alert them of a need for intervention from law enforcement.
Officers with the Elyria Police Department went to the location and reported that they saw the man suspected of stealing the merchandise as he was walking out of the store.
According to the arrest report, the man climbed into the passenger’s seat of a vehicle.
The man was reportedly reaching around on the floor of the car, and the authorities became suspicious of his actions.
After he was identified as 28-year-old Joshua Millsap, the officer explained that he was suspected of stealing sex toys from Cirilla’s. It was reported that the man did not dispute his involvement in the alleged theft.
After searching the vehicle, the police located some of the reportedly stolen adult toys. It was reported that the remainder of them were hidden inside the torn lining of Millsap’s jacket.
The police reported that seven toys were taken by the suspect, and they were all given back to the establishment after they were confiscated from Millsap. The total dollar amount of the items was assessed at $336.93.
The man driving the vehicle was told he was free to leave the scene.
Millsap was given a citation for misdemeanor theft for the alleged sex toy swipe. He was then handed over to the Ohio State Patrol and taken into custody for active warrants.
