Suspect Arrested For Crack in His Rear

When a man was pulled over for allegedly driving 16 miles over the posted speed limit, the officer reportedly found crack cocaine and many other drugs stored between the suspect’s buttocks.

On Thursday morning, a Flagler County deputy reportedly saw a Ford speeding, and he thought it looked as if the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

The deputy performed a traffic stop and included in the report that the driver seemed to be acting in a sketchy way. The deputy additionally believed the man seemed overly concerned about the presence of law enforcement, though it is arguably an anxiety-inducing predicament that most experience when being pulled over.

The 36-year-old driver was identified as Derick McKay, and the deputy noticed an aroma that was assumed to be marijuana purportedly coming from inside the vehicle.

The deputy questioned McKay and made an inquiry about anything illegal the man might have in his possession. McKay reportedly denied having anything, but the authorities at the scene ultimately felt he was withholding information and they continued their inspection.

After the arresting deputy was notified that McKay did not currently possess a valid license to drive and that it was not the first time the man had been busted for that offense, McKay was arrested.

The process of taking McKay into custody began, and he was patted down by the deputy before being placed into the police car. The deputy purported that McKay’s rear end area didn’t feel right, but the man allegedly would not allow a closer inspection of the spot. He was informed that if it turned out that McKay had narcotics when they entered the jail after transport, he would be charged for bringing in the contraband, which is a felony offense.

Before booking, McKay was allegedly asked again if he wanted to hand over anything he might be holding. He reportedly extracted a large plastic bag containing several smaller bags that he had stored between the cheeks of his buttocks.

According to the Sherriff’s Office, 2.4 grams of marijuana, just over a gram of crack, 9.1 grams of cocaine, 3.5 grams of heroin, 1.9 grams of “Molly,” also known as ecstasy, and a handful each of two different types of opioid-based pain relievers were tucked in the center of McKay’s bum.

In addition to a charge for driving with a suspended license, McKay was also charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of Oxycodone with intent to sell, possession of Lortab with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of Molly with intent to sell. He is currently incarcerated without bond.

In response to the allegations, the sheriff stated that due to McKay’s prior entanglements in the legal system for drug-related crimes, “he just doesn’t seem to learn his lesson and a get a real job,” and he would like to see the man penalized harshly for the current charges.

In contrast, even a quick Google search will reveal that most employers screen applicants to obtain their criminal background before offering people a job.
