A teacher at a Texas high school has been charged after he opened a file containing pornography that was displayed in front of the class during a lesson.
At the end of September, high school science teacher James Edward Alleman III was using a projector as a part of his instruction to his class and when he began the lesson it was reported that sexual content popped up on the screen.
The faux pas was reported to the school staff by one of the classmates in attendance, who additionally said that Alleman verbalized to those who viewed it that the incident shouldn’t have happened.
The school suspended Alleman due to the allegations and shortly following the suspension he was reported as having resigned from his teaching position at the high school.
On October 11, after the authorities began investigating and had taken Alleman’s computer equipment and external storage devices for review, they allegedly discovered internet searches in foreign languages leading them to believe that he had been trying to find sexual-based content involving young girls online.
In early November, a search warrant was issued granting permission look through the files on the external drives found in Alleman’s desk at work. The investigators assert that they located four files containing video footage of a female child changing clothes in a bathroom, and she was naked in some of the content.
It was learned that Alleman and his wife had just reportedly relocated from a residence with a bathroom that appeared to match the one seen in the videos on his drives.
Alleman’s wife was interviewed regarding the situation, and the authorities allowed her to view the alleged videos. She reportedly identified who she believed the 10-year-old displayed in the content is, but she stated that she didn’t know there was a camera in the bathroom.
The girl that is believed to have been recorded was later interviewed by detectives, and she was reported to have stated that it was her in the materials, but she didn’t know about the placement of the video camera and wasn’t sure of the location shown in the videos.
Alleman was taken into custody and charged for suspicion of child pornography. He was later released on bond.
