A suspect who allegedly used a machete and seriously injured a man during a street brawl is in custody after the reportedly bloody incident.
45-year-old Ramon Alberto Sanchez Rosa resides in North Catasauqua, Pennsylvania.
Just before 10:00 pm on December 27, Rosa and a large group of people were reportedly involved in a nasty fight.
When the authorities learned about the situation, they sent law enforcement to the location, and a bystander spoke with them to let them know that she had recorded a video of the altercation.
The woman reportedly shared the video with the police, who said that they were able to see a man swinging his arm with a machete in his hand.
The weapon allegedly struck another man in the arm and left him with a significant injury requiring immediate medical attention.
The police gathered statements from others who said they saw the fight, and it was asserted that Rosa was the person who allegedly used the offending weapon.
The man was no longer at the scene, and after obtaining a search warrant, the authorities discovered that Rosa was inside of a garage nearby.
When talking with Rosa, the authorities said that the man disclosed that he hurt the alleged victim using a machete, which the police reportedly found inside of the house.
Rosa was taken into custody, and he is facing charges for suspicion of two felony counts of aggravated assault, and misdemeanor counts for reckless endangerment, simple assault, and possessing an instrument of a crime.
On December 28, Rosa attended his arraignment. His bail was set at $500,000, and when he was unable to satisfy the amount, he was housed in Northampton County Correctional Facility.
