In Louisiana in mid-February, a man was reported for allegedly peering into the homes of strangers while he was dressed in a full gorilla costume.
A concerned citizen called for police assistance when they believed they had witnessed someone dressed in black that was looking inside of people’s homes without their knowledge.
When the authorities arrived in the reported vicinity of the alleged peeping-Tom activities they came across a man decked out in a black, furry gorilla costume.
As the police attempted to make contact with the primate-attired suspect he allegedly tried to seek sanctuary by heading through the door of a nearby home.
The officers, who first canvassed the area around the home due to the belief that the suspect had left through the back door, but ultimately deemed that the man was likely still inside.
After entering the residence and looking around a bit the authorities allegedly discovered 34-year-old Jeremie Joseph Moran tucked underneath a mattress inside the abode and he was still wearing the costume.
When Moran, who was being apprehended as the perpetrator of the invasive peeking, was searched, the police reportedly found a substance that they believed was methamphetamine, in addition to paraphernalia.
Moran allegedly gave the officers a hard time while they attempted to detain him, but they quickly subdued him and took him to jail.
Moran is being charged for suspicion of simple resisting a police officer with force or violence, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and flight from an officer. An additional charge for wearing a mask or hood in public places was added, and if he is convicted of that alone he could face a sentence of up to 36 months of incarceration.
