Woman Held Captive and Assaulted for Days

A Pennsylvania man is facing many charges after allegedly holding a woman captive in her home for two days and assaulting her while her children were present.

According to reports, 27-year-old Joshua Manuel Marsh stays in the Pottsville area but currently has no fixed address.

On March 18, Marsh reportedly placed a call to a woman and asked her if he could stay at her home because he and his girlfriend had been fighting. It was reported that the woman agreed to give him a temporary place to stay.

The 22-year-old woman, who has two small children, reported that on March 25, Marsh showed up at her residence. It was reported that Marsh brought methamphetamine with him, and the woman threw it in the garbage.

For the next two days, Marsh reportedly held the woman captive and refused to allow her to leave the house.

While he allegedly entrapped her, Marsh reportedly assaulted her and threatened her life by holding a pair of scissors to her throat. It was reported Marsh punched, bit, kicked, and dragged the alleged victim around by the hair. Her youngsters were also home when the alleged attacks took place.

Marsh reportedly took away the alleged victim’s cell phone, so she was unable to call for help.

On March 27, Marsh reportedly gave the woman permission to leave the residence to go to the laundromat.

When she got out of the house, the woman called the authorities and let them know what had been going on.

Officers from the Pottsville Police Department went to the home and found that Marsh was still there. The police said they found methamphetamine when they searched him.

Marsh, who was out on bail for an unrelated criminal matter, was taken into custody for suspicion of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, simple assault, and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond.
