Woman Held Captive and Viciously Tortured for Days

A Louisiana woman was reportedly kidnapped, raped, and had to endure several forms of physical abuse for four days while locked inside her alleged captor’s closet.

57-year-old Darryl Vinson is from Marrero, and he currently has a home in Gretna.

On January 25, Vinson allegedly brought home an unwilling house guest.

After connecting with a woman that Vinson reportedly used to go out with, he allegedly held her against her will and took her back to his home.

Vinson reportedly spent four days forcing the woman to endure harrowing torture.

His ex was allegedly locked in a closet for long periods, and when Vinson allowed her to exit the small space he reportedly raped her and ruthlessly physically assaulted her.

On January 29, Vinson had the woman accompany him to the store in his vehicle.

While they were on the road, Vinson allegedly assaulted the woman in the view of another driver on the road.

The driver reportedly feared for the safety of the woman and called 911 to report what they had seen.

The Gretna Police Department responded to the alert, and when they caught up with the pair they reportedly noticed that the woman appeared to need immediate medical treatment.

While the alleged victim was at the hospital, the doctors reported that she had suffered from several injuries including broken ribs, a brain bleed, black eyes, and severe cuts and bruises all over her body.

A deputy talked with the woman, and she reportedly disclosed what Vinson had done to her for the past four days.

When the police chief spoke about the situation, he said, “It was a very brutal and sadistic event.”

The authorities also reported that no one had reported the alleged victim missing in the time that she was gone and that the person who called to report what they had seen likely saved the woman’s life.

Vinson was taken into custody and booked into the Jefferson Parrish Correctional Center, where he is being held without bail. He is expected to face charges for suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree rape, aggravated kidnapping, false imprisonment while armed with a weapon, and possession of stolen property.

No motive for the alleged incident has been disclosed, and the woman is in stable condition.
