Dancing Man Bit Officer After Wrecking Store

A Florida Man was arrested after allegedly causing havoc by dancing on a car in the middle of the street, doing thousands of dollars worth of damage to a market, and biting a police officer.

On the evening of January 2, a man was visiting the Mobil gas station and market when he reportedly began to damage the glass display cases in the Smoke Shop inside of the store. He also reportedly harassed the other patrons before leaving.

The Winter Garden Police Department sent officers to the location, and when they arrived, they watched the surveillance video that was reportedly recorded during the incident.

It was reported that a man tried to reenter the store while the officer was still there, and the owner claimed that he was the perpetrator of the destruction.

Before the authorities could stop him, the suspect fled in his automobile.

According to reports, he swung back around and entered the adjacent driveway after he began to drive away. The man reportedly drove towards the officers and hit a mirror on the outside of one of the police vehicles. One of the officers was struck in the arm by the mirror and was taken to the hospital for the injuries.

Shortly after, an officer reported that a man believed to be the suspect was dancing on the roof of a vehicle in the middle of traffic. When he tried to interact with the man, the officer reported that he went into a 7-Eleven store.

The officer stayed outside and waited for the man to return. Additional officers, including a K-9, were also at the scene.

When the man emerged from the store, he allegedly dismissed the commands of the officers, and they tried to detain him. One of the officers was bitten on the leg by the suspect.

It was reported that the K-9 officer was able to subdue the man by biting his arm.

The suspect was taken for medical treatment of the bite wound.

After he was released from the hospital, the suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail. He is facing charges of resisting an officer with violence, two counts of resisting an officer without violence, battery on an officer, failing to obey law enforcement orders, aggravated battery on an officer, criminal mischief of $1,000 or more, and violation of probation. At the time that this was written, he was still incarcerated.

The store assessed the damage at $2,000.
