DoorDasher Threatened McDonald’s Worker with Crowbar

A Florida DoorDasher was arrested after allegedly getting into an argument with a fast-food restaurant worker and threatening her life while wielding a crowbar.

On the afternoon of February 11, a man visited a McDonald’s in North Fort Meyers to pick up a DoorDash order. When he entered the restaurant, the man allegedly shoved his cell phone in the face of one of the employees. The woman became upset by his alleged action, and an argument broke out. As a result of the situation, the man was asked to depart from the restaurant.

According to reports, the man walked out of the establishment and went to his car, where he grabbed a crowbar and headed back to the restaurant. He reportedly walked up to the worker and threatened her.

The authorities were notified, and deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office went to the location to assist. The employee who was allegedly threatened told the law enforcement officers what transpired from her point of view, and the deputies asked to see surveillance video from the time the alleged incident occurred. When they reviewed the footage, they reportedly saw a man leave the restaurant and return with a crowbar. They also reported that they were able to identify the man they believed was responsible.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Lee County Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of aggravated assault with the intent to commit a felony, and armed burglary of a dwelling, structure, or conveyance. He was initially held in lieu of a $40,000 surety bond and was released the following afternoon. On April 8, he has a scheduled court date regarding the charges.

DoorDash released a statement confirming that the suspect has been banned from their platform.
