A man dropping off a DoorDash order at a residence was arrested after allegedly returning to the home the following day with a firearm, presumably because he felt gypped since he was not given a tip.

On the evening of June 4, a family in Vancouver, Washington, ordered approximately $100 worth of food using the DoorDash app. When the delivery driver dropped off the food, the recipients did not choose to give him a tip. He initially left without incident, but according to reports, he returned the following morning to attempt to collect the gratuity.

The man who lives at the residence reported that his 19-year-old daughter answered the door, and it caught his attention when he heard someone getting aggressive towards her. He saw that it was the DoorDasher from the previous night, and the driver reportedly lifted his shirt to show he had a gun in a holster around his waist. The resident was able to wrestle the gun away when the pair were involved in a scuffle in the driveway before the man drove away.

A Florida woman was found by the authorities after a sub shop employee found a note in the bathroom saying her boyfriend was holding her captive and she needed help.

On May 27, a couple visited a Jersey Mike’s in Navarre and said they needed to pick up orders for DoorDash clients. The woman visited the restroom before the pair left the restaurant. Shortly after, an employee entered the bathroom and spotted what turned out to be a note from someone asking for help. According to reports, the person who wrote it said they were being held captive and abused, along with giving her name and the address of the residence where she could be found. The authorities were notified, and an investigation was opened.

When the investigators learned the name written on the note, they reported that they knew her because they had multiple prior interactions with the couple. The sub shop’s security footage was reviewed, and it was noted that the woman walked into the bathroom after she entered the restaurant. Deputies went to the residence with a search warrant, and the woman was there when they arrived. She reportedly had a black eye, and her arm appeared to be badly hurt. She and her family members told the deputies she had been the victim of long-term abuse at the hands of her boyfriend, and he would not let her leave their home.
