Man Seriously Injured When Girlfriend Struck Him with Car

A woman from Park City, Illinois, is facing many charges after being accused of purposely running over her boyfriend with her vehicle, leaving him significantly injured.

According to reports, on October 1, a 27-year-old woman and her boyfriend went to a bar in Wheeling and had some drinks. When they left the establishment, the man was reportedly driving, and his companion was in the passenger’s seat.

While they were motoring through Mundelein, something caused the couple to have a dispute. They continued to argue, and when things intensified, the man pulled into a pizza restaurant’s parking lot. After he parked the car, he got out and began to walk away.

It was reported that after her boyfriend left the vehicle, the woman slid from the passenger seat into the driver seat. She reportedly began driving in the opposite direction from the direction her boyfriend was walking, but she did not go far before making a U-turn and trying to come back to pick him up.

The man reportedly saw the vehicle but did not want to get in. He started running away, and his girlfriend reportedly drove after him. She allegedly sped after him and struck him with the car in front of bystanders.

The authorities were notified, and they believed the woman was driving under the influence, and that she hit her boyfriend with the car on purpose.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Lake County jail. She is facing several preliminary charges, including aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, two counts of domestic battery, two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. When she went before the judge, she was granted conditional release from incarceration.

It was reported that the man was significantly injured during the incident.
