Milwaukee Man Arrested After Alleged Armed Home Invasion

A Wisconsin man was taken into custody after authorities in Milwaukee reported that he allegedly forced his way into a home and threatened two women while armed with a handgun.

According to authorities, the incident reportedly happened on February 26 at a residence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Police later arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of several charges, including armed burglary, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment, attempted sexual assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities stated that the situation may have begun when a person who was at the home to perform repair work encountered the suspect outside. The worker reportedly told police that the man asked how many people were inside the residence and appeared to have a firearm concealed under his clothing. The worker said he followed the man’s instructions to approach the home, but was allowed to leave moments later. After getting away, he contacted emergency services.

According to the criminal complaint, the suspect entered the home shortly afterward. A friend of the homeowner reportedly noticed him in the laundry area and told investigators he appeared to be under the influence and was holding a handgun.

Authorities stated that the homeowner and her friend were confronted and that both women were allegedly threatened with the weapon during the encounter. Investigators reported that at one point, the suspect fired a shot toward a window while pointing the gun inside the residence. It was also alleged that he attempted to sexually assault one of the women while continuing to hold them at gunpoint. The homeowner was reportedly allowed to leave the house during the incident.

Police said the suspect later discussed taking a vehicle from the property, but officers arrived before he could. After reportedly refusing commands from officers, he was taken into custody, and a loaded handgun was recovered. Authorities stated the firearm had previously been reported stolen.

According to investigators, the man allegedly told officers that he had taken ecstasy earlier that day and left work before going to the area.

He was booked into the Milwaukee County Jail and is reportedly being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
