Early last week, a 45-year-old man from Southern Florida was in Medley, a town approximately 10 miles from Miami.
It was reported that he was completely naked except for a cowboy hat he had on his head. He was also holding a machete.
While he was walking, the man reportedly saw a woman on a bicycle and approached her.
He reportedly spoke to the bicyclist and asked her if she had a crack pipe that he could use.
The woman let him know that she did not have a crack pipe.
After being told that she was unable to provide what he requested, the man allegedly used the machete to attack her.
The woman was able to climb off her bicycle, and she started to run away from the man. While she attempted to flee, he reportedly struck her with the machete blade several times.
When the woman went to the hospital for medical treatment, it was reported that she had wounds on her head and arm that were caused by a blade.
On October 14, the police found the suspect in Hialeah. He was sleeping in a tent without any clothing on, and there were two cowboy hats near him.
The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Miami Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Center. He is expected to face charges for felony attempted murder with a deadly weapon, attempted armed robbery, petit theft, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm. He is currently being held without bond.
