Woman Told Attempted Rapist He Would Have to Shoot Her

A Florida man allegedly tried to rape a woman at gunpoint, and she told him that he would have to “shoot her first” if he expected her to do what he asked.

On February 10, a woman and her boyfriend were on a camping trip in Pineview Park on Merritt Island.

It was reported that a man walked up to their tent and told them to come outside.

When the couple emerged from the tent, they reportedly noticed that the man was holding a handgun. He allegedly said they “robbed his people” before he grabbed the woman and took her to a more secluded part of the forest.

The man reportedly held the gun to the woman’s face and pulled down his pants. He allegedly threatened her and told her to pleasure him with oral sex.

According to the affidavit, the woman would not do as he asked, and she told the man he “would have to shoot her.”

The woman’s boyfriend was searching for her when he heard her yelling for help, and when he located her, they ran to their tent. The suspect allegedly said he was going to shoot the woman while she was fleeing.

The suspect reportedly showed up at their tent and stole their cell phones. When he left, they called the police.

The authorities found the 29-year-old man at an apartment complex after the alleged victim gave them information on his whereabouts.

The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the Brevard County Jail. He is expected to face many charges including felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, felony sexual battery using a deadly weapon or threat of force, felony false imprisonment, felony robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, misdemeanor petit larceny, and misdemeanor resisting an officer without violence. He is currently being held on a $36,000 bond.
