A man who allegedly robbed an Orange County pizza parlor interrupted his thievery to prepare a pizza for himself before using a company car as a getaway vehicle.
On November 8, Big Slice Pizza on Harbor Boulevard in Fullerton, California, reportedly had someone break into the establishment and steal money, electronics, and a delivery vehicle.
While the alleged burglar was in the establishment, they reportedly decided to create, cook, and help themselves to a free pizza before taking off in the car.
The restaurant has surveillance cameras installed, and the staff was able to view the suspect as he stretched out the dough and made his snack.
The Fullerton Police Department received a report about the alleged burglary. After collecting the footage from the surveillance camera for their investigation, the authorities reported that they saw the suspect wearing clear gloves while working with the pizza dough before he fled in the delivery vehicle.
The authorities posted the video clip on social media, and although the suspect’s face appeared rather concealed in the footage, they believed they had identified the man as 25-year-old Oscar Sanchez.
Sanchez was tracked down and taken into custody a couple of days later, and the district attorney has filed charges against him for felony grand theft, grand theft auto, second-degree burglary, theft with prior felony conviction of driving or taking a vehicle, buying or receiving stolen vehicle or equipment with prior felony conviction, and a sentence enhancement for secondary offense committed while released from custody. He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of burglary tools.
The added charges for the prior conviction are related to a similar case involving Sanchez in 2019.
He has pleaded not guilty to the accusations, and Sanchez is incarcerated on a $300,000 bail.
