A boy at a New York middle school was accused of threatening to shoot one of his classmates after the child refused to share his answers in science class.
On the morning of May 25, students in one of the classrooms at Voorheesville Middle School in Voorheesville, New York, were working on a science lab assignment.
An 11-year-old in the class reportedly asked another boy to give him the answers. The student said that he would not allow the boy to take the answers from his work.
According to reports, the boy who asked for the answers was not happy with the denial, and he allegedly threatened to kill the child.
One of the other students in the class heard the interaction between the boys. He walked up to the child who reportedly issued the threat, and he told him that it was not okay for him to say what he said.
The alleged bully reportedly let his classmate know that his father has 28 guns. He reportedly said that he could access the firearms, and allegedly said, “You just wait and see what happens.”
The child went to the teacher and let them know what they overheard being said between his classmates and reported what the 11-year-old told him about being able to get to his dad’s weapons.
It was reported that the school initially investigated the situation, and then reported it to the authorities on Thursday.
The Albany County Sheriff’s Department went to the home of the boy who alleged that he had access to his father’s guns.
According to the sheriff, the man was very cooperative. The authorities discovered that his 28 guns were locked away safely, and all of them were registered.
The boy was given an appearance ticket charging him with making terroristic threats, which is a class D felony.
