A preteen Florida girl was jailed and charged after reportedly purchasing several stun guns and selling them to schoolmates on campus.
Coleman Middle School is located in Tampa, Florida, and they provide public schooling for children ages 11-14.
On February 26, some of the kids enrolled at the school reported to the staff that one of the girls on campus had stun guns. They provided the name of the 12-year-old and added that they thought she was selling the weapons to other kids at the school.
The staff member that the children spoke to talked to the administrators about the situation, and the police were notified.
The girl suspected of the activity was attending a class when a resource officer at the school asked her to leave the room and speak with them privately.
She was reportedly asked about the allegations the other students made about her buying stun guns and distributing them to other classmates for cash.
According to the authorities, the girl told the officer that she bought five stun guns on the internet.
The suspected stun gun entrepreneur allegedly affirmed that she distributed three of them to other students in cash transactions on February 25.
The Tampa Police Department said that when they interacted with the preteen on Friday, they found that she had two stun guns on her at the time.
The youngster was taken into custody and transported to the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center.
The authorities reported that she is facing charges for possession of a weapon on school property. It is expected that she will be granted permission to return home with her parents.
Police are in the process of tracking down and confiscating the three stun guns the girl allegedly sold to the other students.
