A mother in Pennsylvania may face many charges after being accused of stabbing two of her young sons in the neck, leaving them both in critical condition.
29-year-old Sydnie Jefferson lives with her children in the Crawford-Roberts neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
At approximately 7:00 am, a man carrying his wounded child rushed into a police station in Pittsburgh. It was asserted that the 3-year-old had been stabbed, and emergency medical responders transported him to the hospital for treatment.
When the youngster’s father went back to the family’s residence, he reportedly found that his 7-year-old son had also been stabbed. The child was taken to the hospital, and it was purported that their mother had stabbed both youngsters.
When the home was searched, the authorities located a knife that they believed was used as the weapon. They additionally reported that the dress they believed Jefferson was wearing had blood splattered on it.
After the incident occurred, Jefferson left the house and notified many of her relatives, telling them, “My boys are gone.” She then placed a call to 911 with her location.
Jefferson was taken into custody without incident and incarcerated on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of criminal attempted homicide, two counts of endangering the welfare of children, and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Although they are waiting for tests to confirm the suspicions, Jefferson’s attorney believes she may be suffering from problems with her mental health. It is reported that her family continues to show her support.
At the time of this writing, it was reported that the children are in critical, but stable condition. Two other children also reside in the home, but they were reported as being unharmed physically in the incident.
