In Florida last month, performer DaniLeigh was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after allegedly causing an accident and leaving the scene.
Around 2:00 am on May 30, a man riding a moped in Miami Beach was struck by a Mercedes. The driver of the vehicle reportedly took off immediately following the incident, and others who witnessed the event said the motorbike was dragged from the back of the car.
According to reports, people tried to get the driver’s attention, but they did not stop the vehicle.
Officers from the Miami Beach Police Department caught up to the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. The driver was identified as 28-year-old DaniLeigh, and the officers reported that they could smell alcohol coming from inside of the car. They also believed she had impaired motor skills.
When she was asked about the accident, the woman told the police that she was not involved in the crash. She also said she hadn’t been drinking.
It was reported that she agreed to do roadside sobriety testing, but the officers did not believe she passed. When she took a breathalyzer test, the results revealed a blood-alcohol content of .145 and .148.
The vehicle was searched, and the officers reported that they located a bottle of tequila inside.
DaniLeigh was taken into custody and booked into the Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, and DUI damage to property. She was released a few hours later on a $9,500 bail.
According to reports, the driver of the scooter has a fractured spine, in addition to a kidney laceration.
