Diaper-Clad Man Asked Young Girls to Change Him

A man who was seen wearing only a diaper on the grounds of an elementary school is facing charges after two young girls reported that he made baby noises and loudly stated that he needed to be changed.

On August 6, youngsters were outside enjoying the summer day when two girls who were riding bicycles had an encounter with a stranger that the authorities said left them both “visibly shaking” and “truly petrified.”  According to reports, they were near the Andy Woods Elementary School when a man wearing a diaper with a pacifier around his neck reportedly came up to them and yelled, “Goo goo, ga ga, I need a diaper change,” He allegedly asked if one of them would do it for him, and the girls quickly rode off.

They went to the nearby home of an adult they knew, and after telling them what had reportedly happened, the individual called their parents, and the authorities were notified. Officers from the Tyler Police Department responded to the call and spoke with the people involved, as well as individuals who reported they were in the area and saw the incident occur. Using the information they were given, they believed they knew who the suspect was. They obtained an arrest warrant and went to his job.

The 45-year-old man, who has a 25+ years criminal history with many of the incidents involving youngsters and him donning a diaper, was taken into custody and booked into the Smith County Jail. He is facing a preliminary charge of criminal solicitation of a minor, in addition to a charge of misdemeanor criminal trespass for an unrelated incident. According to facility records, at the time this was written, he was being held at the main jail in lieu of a $600,000 surety bond.
