DUI Suspect Caught Driving with Guns and Baby in Car

A Florida man with a felony criminal history is facing several charges after the police interacted with him during a traffic stop and accused him of driving with firearms while intoxicated, when he had a baby in the vehicle.

On May 2, a man from Palm Coast was driving locally in an SUV with two passengers: a woman and an 8-month-old. The SUV caught the attention of another motorist, who believed they saw the driver holding guns. They did not think the firearms were being used to harm anyone, but they notified the authorities to let them know about the situation.

Deputies from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office went to the area where the caller reported seeing the SUV, and they quickly located it. They reported that the vehicle was being operated erratically, and they pulled over the driver. When they looked inside, they allegedly found two guns, ammunition, and a drink believed to be an alcoholic beverage. According to reports, the man, who was found to have several prior felony arrests, did not perform well on the roadside sobriety tests.

The woman in the vehicle was allowed to leave the scene with the baby, and there are currently no reports on whether the authorities are considering charging her with anything related to the incident. The man was taken into custody and booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. He is facing multiple preliminary charges, including one count of DUI with a person under 18 in the vehicle, two counts of improper exhibition of a firearm, and one count of use of a firearm while under the influence. He was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
