Intoxicated Strip Club Patron Bit Officer During Arrest

An intoxicated patron reportedly refused when asked to leave a Pennsylvania gentlemen’s club before allegedly biting a responding police officer’s thumb in the parking lot.

Early in the morning on January 31, a 45-year-old man from Exeter was at Dream Girls Gentlemen’s Club in Wilkes-Barre. While there, he reportedly had too much to drink and started getting rowdy. It was decided that he had become out of control, and the man was told he would have to leave. He allegedly refused and threatened the employees, and the authorities were notified.

Around 1:30 AM, officers from the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department arrived at the strip club to see what was going on. They reported that they found the man, identified as the suspect, standing in the parking lot. When the officers walked up to him, they believed he was acting like he was very intoxicated. According to reports, the man became increasingly agitated, and the officers told him he was being arrested.

He reportedly resisted and tried to prevent the officer from putting him in the back of the police car. During the struggle, the man allegedly bit the thumb of one of the officers and did not let go until he was tased.

After the man was taken into custody, he reportedly remained combative and fought with prison employees at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. He was booked on preliminary charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment, and public drunkenness. At his arraignment, the man was ordered to be held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

It was reported that the officer who was reportedly bitten by the suspect was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for medical treatment.
