Man Accused Girlfriend of Slashing his Arm with Machete

A woman in Texas is facing multiple charges for allegedly trapping her boyfriend in her apartment and slicing him with a machete after an argument regarding infidelity.

On the evening of November 20, a man showed up at the South Miami Hospital Emergency Department with a large cut on his arm that he said was caused by being cut with a machete. The authorities went to the medical center to talk to the man, and he reportedly named his girlfriend as the individual who attacked him with the large blade. He said they were at a restaurant in Fontainebleau when he noticed images on her phone of her with another man, and after they exchanged harsh words, he walked out.

The man reported that he had some of her belongings, including her medication and glasses. He decided to leave them outside her apartment, and his keys accidentally got mixed in with the stuff. When he went back to get them, the woman was there, and she had already taken everything inside. He alleged that after entering the residence, he tried to grab his keys off her bed, but she locked the door and made comments that he interpreted as threats. He was able to get out of the room, and as he headed for the door, the woman allegedly cut him with the machete blade.

The police were unable to contact her that night, but the following day, the woman, who chose not to speak to the police without an attorney, was taken into custody and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She is facing preliminary charges of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and false imprisonment with a deadly weapon. At the time this was written, jail records showed that she was still in custody and being held without bond.
