Man Caught with Over 322 Grams of Meth in Underwear

A Florida man who was released from prison in December is facing additional legal troubles after he was reportedly caught with drugs in his vehicle, and later in his underwear, after a routine traffic stop.

Just after midnight on March 19, a 41-year-old man from Interlachen was driving with a woman in the passenger’s seat and two youngsters in the back of the vehicle. A deputy from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office spotted the car, and they performed a traffic stop for alleged driving violations. The driver pulled over without incident, and the deputy began questioning the adults. The man was allegedly too incoherent to interview, and when speaking to the passenger, the deputy was reportedly told that she and the driver smoked pot in the car.

The woman was not arrested, but the Department of Children and Families received a copy of the police report since the youngsters were passengers in the vehicle.

The man was taken into custody. While searching him during his booking, the authorities reported that they found multiple baggies hidden in his underpants holding what they believed was just over 322 grams of narcotics. When tested, the results were reportedly positive for methamphetamine. The man, who allegedly declared that there was “nothing wrong with drugs,” was housed in the Putnam County Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of amphetamine or methamphetamine trafficking (14 grams or over), possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver, two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, smuggling contraband into a county detention facility, and three counts of drug paraphernalia, in addition to seven parole violations. He is currently being held without bond.
