Men Used Jaws of Life to Rob ATMs at 7-Elevens

Three men in Maryland are facing a total of ninety-five theft-related charges for their alleged involvement in incidents where nearly $200,000 was robbed from multiple ATMs that were busted open with jaws of life rescue tools.

According to reports, at the end of January, a string of ATM robberies in 7-Eleven stores throughout Prince George’s County began. The first and second events happened in Beltsville and Upper Marlboro on January 29. Additional incidents occurred on February 1 in Lanham, February 6 in Oxon Hill, February 19 in Beltsville, and February 22 in Lanham. The authorities believed the robberies were linked since they were each carried out the same way.

During their investigation, the authorities learned that the suspects, who brought a jaws of life tool, waited until the early morning hours to go to the convenience stores. Everyone in the establishments at the time of the alleged robberies was made to lie on the floor at gunpoint. The jaws of life were reportedly used to break open the ATMs, and the suspects made off with the cash.

While reviewing the surveillance footage, one of the cameras recorded the vehicle the police believed the suspects were using. When they found the car, they placed a GPS tracker on it, and they reported that it helped lead them to the place where they believed the men met before and after each of the alleged robberies occurred.

On March 19, the suspects were located and taken into custody, and they are currently facing nearly 100 charges between the three of them, with the 39-year-old facing 45, the 33-year-old facing 43, and the 34-year-old facing 7. It was reported that the authorities expect more will be added as the investigation continues.
