Pregnant Woman’s Vehicle Stolen from Car Wash

A Florida woman was arrested for allegedly wrecking a pregnant woman’s car after stealing it from a car wash.

Late in the morning on July 7, a woman who was 32 weeks pregnant took her vehicle to Big Dan’s Car Wash in Kissimmee. She left the engine running in her Hyundai Sonata and stepped a few feet from the car to vacuum the floor mats when an unknown individual hopped into the driver’s seat and took off. It was reported that the alleged car thief caused an estimated $20,000 in damage to the business as they sped through the car wash and left the parking lot. The authorities were notified, and officers from the Kissimmee Police Department started investigating the incident.

They began searching the area around the car wash, and an officer reported that they saw a Sonata crash into a gas tanker truck and a pole. They thought it might be the car that was reportedly stolen from Big Dan’s, and the officer went over to talk to check on the driver. A woman got out of the car and allegedly started yelling at the officer and threatening to physically fight him. Additional officers assisted, and after tasing her, she was handcuffed.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Osceola County Correctional Facility. She is facing preliminary charges of one felony count of grand theft auto, one felony count of criminal mischief – $1,000 or more, and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest without violence. At the time this was written, she was being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. A judge ordered that if she is released, she is to stay away from the alleged victim.
