A man who was accused of sexually abusing an underage girl last July pleaded not guilty to the allegations, and he has been scheduled to appear in court to fight against the charges on July 16.
Early last summer the mother of a young girl notified the Alabaster Police Department and reported that she believed her daughter, who is between 12 and 16 years old, had been the victim of a sexual assault.
An investigation into the claim was opened and the authorities believe that the suspect responsible for the alleged assault is 35-year-old Alabaster resident Jeremy Douglas Loper. They reportedly discovered evidence of a minor who was subject to solicitation through electronic means, which led to a sexual encounter that took place on June 24 between Loper and the girl.
