On the afternoon of December 20, a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer encountered a vehicle being driven in Chattanooga. When the registration number was checked, it appeared that it was not the proper tag on the license plate. The trooper pulled over the driver, identified as a 35-year-old local woman, and they noted that a youngster was in the front passenger’s seat without a child restraint. After collecting the driver’s license, the woman presented, it was reportedly learned that it had been suspended.

The situation worsened when the trooper told the woman that it was recorded that she had multiple warrants out of Georgia, and she would need to have the youngster’s father take a 90-minute cab ride to retrieve the child. It was chilly outside, and the trooper made space in his vehicle to allow her and the youngster to wait inside with his heater on. According to reports, instead of taking the trooper’s offer, the woman quickly drove away. He was able to follow her, and the woman ended up on a dead-end street. The trooper’s vehicle was behind her, and she allegedly backed up and slammed into it.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Hamilton County Jail. She is facing multiple preliminary charges, including evading arrest, driving on a revoked, suspended or canceled license, child neglect, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, financial responsibility, failure to carry and display license, driving an unregistered vehicle, unlawful removal of a registration decal or license plate, improper backing of vehicle, driving without exercising due care, and a child restraint law violation. At the time this was written, facility records showed that she was being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

A pair in Tennessee are facing multiple charges after the authorities reportedly uncovered fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, a handgun, and $33,772 during a search of their residence.

According to reports, the authorities suspected drug sales were taking place out of a home in Chattanooga, and they obtained a search warrant so they could further investigate. On September 10, a man and woman were at the address when detectives with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Special Investigations Unit, accompanied by agents from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team arrived.

When the police announced their presence, they reported that the woman came outside after a bit, but the man stayed inside the house. They continued to encourage the man to cooperate, and a short time later he walked out the front door. According to reports, both suspects were cooperative after leaving the residence.
